ZyroSpace ("ZyroSpace," "we," "our," or "us") is a Canadian registered charity that provides a free educational platform with AI-powered course support, learning and practice tools, optional accounts and saved learning features, and donation features. This Privacy Policy explains the information we collect and process, why we use it, the services that may process it, and the choices available to users. ZyroSpace does not sell student data or use student prompts to create advertising profiles. Many learning features can be used without creating an account. When you use AI features, your prompt and relevant course context may be processed by Google AI services to generate a response. Signing in allows ZyroSpace to save learning history, preferences, and other account features. Users should avoid entering unnecessary personal information into prompts.
We collect information needed to operate ZyroSpace, protect the service, and provide the features a user chooses to use.
Students can use the Alberta course chat, practice, overview, resources, and dashboard without signing in. Signed-out learning activity is not linked to a Google account, but prompts and recent context are still sent to the ZyroSpace backend and AI services so the feature can respond.
For signed-out users, chat history and practice activity are not saved to a ZyroSpace account or backend history. They are kept only for the current browser tab/session experience and are not available after the user closes the tab or leaves the session.
For signed-in users, ZyroSpace stores account profile information and saved learning history in the backend database and keeps a local browser cache so history, flashcards, quizzes, dashboard progress, custom themes, and share/import features can work across sessions.
Browser storage may contain authentication session data, profile snapshots, selected country/course/language, theme preference, donation prompt preferences, guest prompt counters, and cached signed-in learning history. Clearing browser storage may remove local preferences or sign the user out.
ZyroSpace uses AI. Student prompts, recent chat context, selected course information, generation settings, and retrieved course-source excerpts may be sent from the ZyroSpace backend to Google Gemini or related Google AI services to generate responses, flashcards, quizzes, and feedback.
For Alberta Grade 7-9 Math and Science, ZyroSpace is designed to ground educational answers and practice in the selected Alberta grade, subject, and ZyroSpace's designated Alberta curriculum and source corpus where applicable. Curriculum grounding reduces mistakes but does not eliminate them.
ZyroSpace does not intentionally send a user's Google account name, email address, profile settings, account access token, or full account record to Gemini for ordinary course chat. Users should avoid typing unnecessary personal information into prompts because any information included in a prompt may be processed as part of the AI request.
ZyroSpace uses cookies, local storage, browser storage, and session tokens for sign-in, preferences, saved learning features, interface state, security, and donation prompts.
ZyroSpace does not use student information or student prompts to create advertising profiles. Users can manage cookies and local storage through their browser settings.
ZyroSpace relies on third-party service providers to operate parts of the platform. These currently include Google services for authentication, AI processing, fonts, and related technology; Pinecone for vector search infrastructure; database and hosting infrastructure used by ZyroSpace; Stripe for donations; Microsoft Forms for certain community forms; and email services for support and communications. Official educational websites may also be linked from course pages.
These providers may process information according to their respective roles and privacy terms. ZyroSpace may also disclose information where required by law or where reasonably necessary to protect the security, rights, or safety of users, ZyroSpace, or others.
ZyroSpace may temporarily retain recent conversation context to provide continuity during a chat session. This temporary context is not intended to serve as permanent saved history.
Signed-in account profile data, saved chats, flashcards, folders, quizzes, custom themes, share links, and progress evidence are retained while needed to provide saved learning features, unless deleted through available controls or by request. Users can delete individual saved chats, flashcard sets, folders, quizzes, and custom themes where the interface provides delete controls.
The product does not currently perform automatic full account deletion from the app. Signed-in users can revoke active share links from the account menu, and can contact support@zyrospace.org to request assistance with account data, saved learning data, or account deletion.
Donation records, Microsoft Forms submissions, email/support messages, and technical logs may have separate retention periods controlled by ZyroSpace or the relevant service provider.
ZyroSpace is designed for students, including minors. Students should use ZyroSpace according to their school, family, and classroom rules and should not submit unnecessary personal information about themselves or others.
Users can use many Alberta student features without signing in, sign out of Google, clear browser storage, delete individual saved learning records where controls are provided, revoke active share links, avoid creating share links, and contact ZyroSpace for privacy questions or deletion assistance.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, including encrypted connections, account session protections, access controls for saved history, and input validation. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
ZyroSpace links to official curriculum pages and third-party educational resources, including Government of Alberta, Open Alberta, and LearnAlberta resources for Alberta courses. Those websites have their own privacy practices, copyright terms, and availability.
ZyroSpace is independent from the Government of Alberta. Referencing or linking to Government of Alberta resources does not mean ZyroSpace is operated, approved, endorsed, or certified by the Government of Alberta.
We may update this policy as ZyroSpace changes. Updates will be posted here with a revised date.
